Featured Fridays: Three Features in Three Days!

What a fun week for features and a great way to finish of what has been another busy and wonderful year for Kate Wenzel Photography!  I am less than two weeks away from having our 2nd son and am so looking forward to his arrival!  In the meantime, I am staying busy wrapping up the 2012 year!

This week, Lindsay and Michael were featured on Lovebird Productions, an adorable national wedding planning site.  Meanwhile, Kenzie and her friends were highlighted on Senior Style Guide and last but not least, Katie and Cody's wedding was on Wedding Hopping!  Enjoy!

Fall Family Session: Extended Family Sessions!

I have photographed Tina and her family for the last few years and love that I can now call her friend.  When she thought of giving her mom a gift certificate for a session for her siblings and their kids, I thought it was brilliant.  It was such a joy to get to know ALL of Tina's wonderful family.  Although it was a gloomy day, the pictures were anything but!  So much laughter and so many sweet little faces- I really love that I get to call this my job.  Here are a few highlights:

Class of 2013: Katie

Sometimes, during a session, you know as a photographer that things are just right.  Between the locations, the fall colors, the beautiful subject, her sense of style and my desire to capture her in a creative way that reflected her love for all things country chic, it all came together.  Katie was wonderful to photograph.  You would never know that the hours leading up to her session were a bit stressful for this beauty!  A flawless smile was a constant throughout the entire session and we had a blast traveling in and around the area around her home.  Here is a glimpse into her session:

Class of 2013: Josie

I loved this picture of Josie.  I loved how she incorporated fun accessories like the flower in her hair or the scarf.  I loved how relaxed and go-with-the-flow she was and how we were able to capture her among the fields, fences and forests of Minnesota. In what was the last week where we still had vibrant color, Josie smiled her way through her session and the results were images that showcase who she is!  Here is peek into her session:

Class of 2013: Leigha

Leigha is the sweetest girl.  You can tell just by looking at her and it only becomes more apparent once you get to know her.  Athletic. Intelligent. Beautiful. Homecoming Queen.  These are just a few of the words I would use to describe her.  I loved photographing her real smile and happy demeanor.  You would never guess that is was FREEZING october day....windy and just plain cold.  Leigha never complained and smiled the whole way through.  Loved it. Here are a few images from her session last month!

An Amazing Autumn Wedding: Anna & Nick

October 27th was a crisp fall day.  The air was cool, and the leaves were gathered on the ground.  As I drove up to the beautiful St. John the Baptist church of Dayton, Minnesota, I couldn’t help but take in the autumn day and all its glory!  Once we parked, I could see that the church stood on a hill overlooking Dayton and for miles, not one tree bore its brightly colored leaves.  But as I walked around the church, a beautiful tree, with its blazing gold leaves stood tall- a symbol of this couple’s love, also standing tall and beautiful.  I knew right then and there that this day would be fabulous from beginning to end.

The beauty of the day was not limited to autumn’s richness, but also included the love between a couple and their beautiful girls, the fun brought by their 17-person wedding party and the gorgeous details Anna and Nick planned to make further portray their style throughout the day!

This day was years… many, many years in the making; and everyone felt the joy!  Here is a glimpse into Anna and Nick’s lovely wedding:

Loved their first look under the brilliant golden yellow tree!

Sundance Golf Course of Maple Grove hosted the perfect reception for the perfect couple:

In what was a first for me as a photographer, Anna and Nick lit luminaries to honor loved ones and celebrate their love in an unique and beautiful way!

This grandma could DANCE like crazy!  Unreal. Loved her!

Nick and Anna, I wish you many, many years of happy days! Thank you for allowing me to capture your wonderful wedding through the lens!
