A Sweet Baby Session: Endearing Evie!

Oh how I love my nieces and nephews! They melt my heart and getting the chance to photograph them is such a joy!  We finally were able to meet this little sunshine as we celebrated Christmas with my in-laws in Milwaukee!  Here is a peek into the session- and a highlight of the many adorable expressions of this happy, kissable little baby girl!

I am pretty sure little Evie is a big fan of getting her picture taken! :)

A Fabulous & Freezing Farm Engagement Session l Melissa & Charlie

They met one another while attending adjoining colleges. While a friendship developed, Melissa started to see something special in Charlie.  Before Charlie could embrace it as well, they graduated and Melissa went to Africa for a while, putting Charlie and cold Minnesota weather behind her.  But a brief encounter months later was all they needed. Charlie saw Melissa for all that she was and they began dating and falling in love.
Two years later, we were able to photograph this love and celebrate their engagement amid the same rustic red barns where sparks first flew for Charlie and reignited for Melissa. The frigid weather didn't deter their love or Melissa's sweet, giddy excitement as we meandered around this beautiful, snow-covered property.  Here is glimpse into their session:

Sleds, Snoopy, Snow & a Sweet Family Session!

This family was so brave!  It was lightly snowing during their session, which is beautiful with the rustic barn and red touches in their adorable outfit choices. It was also 8 degrees!  We moved fast to get great portraits of their cute family and their sweet little boy, Jaxson!
Here is look at a few of the moments that were captured during their snowy session:

Class of 2014: Rachael

If you're noticing a trend on this blog of freezing cold sessions, you're on to something.  For the past 6 weeks, sessions have been FRIGID.  Thankfully, I have amazing clients like Rachael, who didn't complain once during her session...even in a dress!  The cool winter wind enhanced the images from this gorgeous girl!

I love to photograph siblings of past clients.  Last year, I had the honor of photographing Rachael's older sister, Kayla.  At that time, this wonderful family had just brought a sweet little puppy into their family.  This year, Jagger didn't look much like a puppy anymore!  Our creative process (think peanut butter all over the field) to photograph Jagger and Rachael had me laughing so hard I was almost in tears!

Here is glimpse into our session:

A Lovely Little Log House Pioneer Village Wedding: Jill + Paul

November 23rd in Minnesota is a bit of a gamble weather-wise.  It could feel like autumn, with sunshine and a few leaves brilliantly shining, it could be pouring rain, or even a blizzard.  It could also be zero degrees with a wind that makes you cold to the core.  For Paul and Jill's wedding day, that latter was true.  And still, these two held tight to each other, smiled lovingly and celebrated beautifully.

Jill and Paul are not strangers to cold weather. Minnesota raised, they had bravely handled cold temps during their engagement session last winter, (see those pictures, HERE).  And so, it was no surprise when Jill said she wanted to stick with our plan and do most of the portraits outside.  The Little Log House in Pioneer Village in Hastings provided gorgeous backdrops of rustic barns, vintage brick, snow-kissed grass and a soft sun that illuminated the love these two share.  Although it was my coldest wedding to date, it was also one of my favorites.  Jill and Paul, their love, their friends and the classic and elegant details of their day were a joy to photograph and warmed my heart from beginning to end.

Here is a look into their day- one thing is for sure, unlike November weather in Minnesota, these two are not a gamble... their love is here to stay.

Show these two some love- if they get 20 comments below they will receive a free $30 print credit! :)
