Magnificent Mother + Daughter Mini Session!

Oh these sweet, beautiful girls! It was pure joy getting to know Ashley and her daughter this weekend. The sunny skies were the perfect pairing with their smiles and laughter!  I loved the style they brought to the shoot- truly, someone call J Crew and get these two in a magazine.  

Within moments, I knew that newly-turned five-years-old Asha was a character! Her personality was so lively and fun I didn't want our time to end. Capturing the mother-daughter relationship in all its glory was a gift to my heart. Here is a glimpse into our session:

A Fun, Forest and Fabulous Family Session

I had the joy of meeting this fun family a couple years ago for Logan's Grad portraits. When they called to set up a winter session, I was thrilled.  When it happened to be -20 on that day, we were all less than thrilled and decided to move the session forward. Who could guess that we would have a gorgeous, near-seventy degree day in early March!? It was so fun getting to know them all and trekking through the woods with them this past weekend.  When we arrived, they shared with me that although they live far away now, they used to live close and this forest and these trails were favorite hiking spots for them over a decade ago!  I love that this spot has some sweet sentimental value- and how it just happened to work out that way! Country, Cars and Cute Love Engagement Session: Jillian + Patrick (+Aiden!)

As I drove 90 miles north to meet Jillian, Patrick and their sweet son, Aiden, I couldn't help but smile. The sunshine felt warmer than it had in months, the snow was nearly gone and I was ready for an adventure with these three.  It was so fun to explore the land, the vintage home, rolling hills, magical, light-streaming forests and more with them!  As Jillian and I talked over the last few months, she expressed her desire to include her badge & handcuffs.  As a police officer, this is a significant part of what makes her who she is and so I was thrilled to incorporate that. In addition, Patrick and Aiden have a love for all things car and truck related- from the real ones to the matchbox ones so we found fun ways to showcase that shared passion.  But really, most of all, I just love watching the dynamic between a couple and a family- and documenting that through the lens in a way they can treasure for a lifetime. Adorable Aurora's 1st Birthday Party!

Last weekend, I had the honor of photographing Aurora's 1st birthday party. She is such a beautiful, sweet and spunky little girl and over the past year, I have loved getting the chance to photograph her as she grew from an infant to a baby to a sweet little girl!  Here is a look into her birthday party:
