Bike & Beauty: Katie and Jesse's Engagement Session

They call me matchmaker.  Never have I been involved in some way in the start of any of my client's relationship. Until now.  I was privileged to photograph Katie's grad portraits several years ago (see those, HERE). It had been a very long time since I had seen this lovely girl in person, but when I heard they were engaged, and met with them last month, I learned a little about their love, and how it began.

In fall of 2012, as I typically do, I posted a preview image from Katie's grad session on Facebook.  Once I did this, Jesse happened to 'like' the image.  This was their first interaction and it caused Katie to message Jesse- the rest, as they say, is history!  It was so fun to learn of this story! It was even more fun to see their love, their interaction, the way they laugh and the beautiful thought they put into their session. Due to Jesse's love for motorcycles and the fact that this was part of the reason Katie was initially drawn to him, we had to include in in their engagement session!  I was over the moon for them, the fall setting-sun and the bike. It all came together perfectly!  Here is a look at their session; I cannot wait for their June 2015 wedding!

Class of 2015: Tori

Tori is a girl who has beautiful goals and dreams. With a love for New York, a passion for reading and a talent in softball, she also is well-rounded.  Add in there an easy-going personality and a classic beauty and you have the makings for an amazing session.

The fall colors- displayed in the trees, leaves and ivy, offered the perfect backdrop for Tori's session.  I loved her quiet confidence and sweet smile- we had a blast at last weekend's session!  Here is glimpse at a few of her portraits:

Pretty & Pink Autumn Wedding: Elsie & Jordan

A brave and selfless man, Jordan courageously served our country in the Army. While on a  two-week visit home, he met Elsie.  Although the spark was there instantly, (Elsie called dibs on him when she and her friends walked into a party and saw him!), their deep love developed through phone calls and Skype. Earlier this month, these two celebrated one another and a great love amid those friends and family they hold most dear.  While there were many highlights- some of my favorites include: Elsie's preppy & hip shoes, TWO emotional and beautiful first looks, gorgeous fall light, a wedding party that was like no other, and a moving standing-ovation for those who served and sacrificed so much.

Although it is rare, occasionally the wedding day is the first time I meet a couple.  But by the end of the day, I felt like an old friend to these two. They have a way of bringing you into their fold, making you laugh, and even cry tears of joy for a couple so in tune with one another it is impossible not to adore them.  Jordan is full of life, laughter and integrity. His friends spoke so highly of his character that I couldn't help but feel admiration for a man I had not even met until hours before.  Elsie is beautiful bride, small in stature but with a loving and spunky personality that is both endearing and fun!  I left that evening feeling inspired by this couple and thankful to have captured their day.  I am so happy to share a look at this wedding:
