A Beautiful, Backyard Wedding: Jillian & Patrick

The dirt kicked up as I drove on the side country roads to get a place where sunflowers grow tall and forests grow thick.  A place where love blooms beautifully and where backyard weddings are full of elegant details and significant sentimentality.  Jillian and Patrick's wedding was full of personal touches- each one had a story behind it and I loved the attention to detail and effort they put into this most important of days.
Among my favorite aspects was Jillian's late grandmother's broaches nestled so lovingly in her gorgeous bouquet, and the custom converse shoes that Patrick, Jillian and son Aiden all wore.  The very location, spoke to their family roots and ties.  Patrick grew up wandering the fields and forests of the place where these two said I do and partied late into the night with those they hold most dearly.  He navigated the pathways and built amazing tee-pee structures that have stood the test of time. As I delicately placed some of the details of their day on the wooden beams that formed this decades-old tee-pee, I reveled in the combining of their pasts and futures that day. Theirs rings and wedding invites, her bouquet and glistening shoes hung perfectly on the rustic, worn wood.  The combining of two lives, two souls, is showcased in this. As a law enforcer, I loved Jillian's desire to include her belt over her wedding dress, and as a girl with deep relationships, I valued her longing to have a first look not only with her groom, but with her adoring son and beloved bridesmaids.

All of these were pieces, pieces to the bigger pictures of a great love. And just as sunflowers turn their vibrant faces to the sun, those in Jillian and Patrick's lives turn and stare in joyful excitement at the love of these two, a love worth watching and a love worth celebrating.  Here is look into their beautiful, backyard wedding:
